“A day to raise funds and awareness for testicular cancer, because at our age it’s easy to lose a ball”

Purpose

Since 2010, The Testy Cup is an annual event organized by a volunteer based group of friends. As of 2013, The Testy Cup expanded and joined with Testicular Cancer Canada. Together, we are planning for a second year in a row The Testy Cup in two locations; Ottawa and Kitchener. United, our goal is to help young adolescents to adult males; better understand their bodies, reach out for help when faced with the terrible disease testicular cancer, and the prevention thereof. Lastly, we are excited to invite individuals to organize their own event with our tools, in other areas of Canada.

In order to achieve this goal, The Testy Cup will produce funds for Testicular Cancer Canada (TCC). The Testy Cup supports TCC in efforts to visit and distribute pamphlets through schools, public health units and physicians. TCC’s current focus is to educate individuals on early detection — it’s simply the best defence against testicular cancer. TCC also provides support to survivors and their families, they aim to help those affected by the disease achieve both health and happiness.

Creation of The Testy Cup

A long-time friend, of the original Testy Committee, was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. His story touched us as we hope all men diagnosed with this unfortunate disease will fight just as hard as he did. Our brave friend has a love for golf and the outdoors; we thought what better way to honor his fight and help raise awareness then to plan a golf tournament.
